Uzhgorod Day Festival

Still under the weather because of flu; feel a little better today, so went into city for a little while to see some of the "Uzhgorod Day" festival. There were stalls lining the entire Linden Tree Promenade:

People were selling honey they collected, and also "honey-wine":

All sorts of food, like bograch:

The sign on the barrel says" Samahon (home-made liquor) : plum brandy, berry brandy, pear brandy, walnut brandy, cherry brany, and honey brandy:

Below was my biggest surprise, a booth selling "Real American Burgers"!!!

As I was taking the photo above, I heard someone say "Would you like to try a burger?" in a Southwest American accent! I learned that the guy in the pink shirt and cowboy hat is an American from Arizona who has lived the past 16 years in Ukraine, working with a religious based NGO (iteams.org), a charitable organization. They do a lot of work with the Roma, and with orphans. He said they were currently helping to provide trauma counseling to refugees from the ATO in East Ukraine.  He has a Ukrainian wife, and son (son standing next to him)
